reverse the position of your door locks when you're installing it. You can attach the body of the barrel on the door jam instead. When this is done, you can already close your door by pushing the barrel to the right. This way the door can no longer be opened when someone pushes the door from the outside. The barrel will block the door from being pushed inside even without the hole. You need not worry that the door can be opened when someone pulls it back from the outside because the side of the door jams will lock it in. With this you will no longer worry that your door locks will get out of shape and out of place. If your door lock is already damaged and out of shape, you can just remove the hole on the left and install instead in its place the body and the barrel of the door lock. If it can't be done on the left side of your door jam, you can attach it above instead or buy a new one that would fit given the thickness of your door jam. And the next time you close it, you just have to push the barrel to your right. You can then be assured that your place is safe from potential intruders for a long period of time.
